craigpigeonshooter
I have moved my gun cabinet from the loft into the warmth in the house and I was wondering if I need to inform the police that I have moved it? (Herts/beds police)
mkhan
You might as well as sometimes they do unannounced visit and will not be good for you just email them As the police might think that you are not behaving in a responsible way so just save your back
Googleplex
Yes, I have just done a similar thing, it gives the fao chance to re inspect your security and make sure you have installed your cabinet appropriately.
Roy King
I would advise that you do , they are fussy about these things round this area! Trust me I know! I moved mine to the other room ,same wall opposite side and got ticked off for not telling them
hesstondriver
I have found a quick phone call to say ' just to let you know I have moved it (in the house) , it is all secure and safe, just wondering if you wanted to pop in and check it is all ok - or are you happy to wait until renewal time ? the response I got was - thank you for letting me know , its more than some people do, ill pop in if im that way . Richie092
I take it the same advice should be taken for if you upgrade to a larger cabinet but in the same place? I'm about to do just that.
triumph_Dave
I take it the same advice should be taken for if you upgrade to a larger cabinet but in the same place? I'm about to do just that. I moved up from one cabinet to two, all located in exactly the same area. Avon and Somerset still wanted to check their position and location, which if you think about it is logical. Its not only the cabinets specification and positioning, but also how well its anchored to the wall that comes under scrutiny.. All was well, a quick check, a chat about the goings on in the area and a cup of tea and the FAO was happy.. I don't have an issue with the FAO checks, I have mostly found them fair and its a chance to find out the local gun related news.
Roy King
It always pays to keep the fao's sweet, no need to tip the apple cart over, they're just doing their job

I suppose a move is the same as an upgrade they will still want to check the fitting of the cabinet.
