Highlandladdie
Do ear defenders ever loose there protection over the years ? Reason i ask is that i own a pair of debens which i find great but they are coming up to 8years old now. Have a look at the range of Deben electronc ear muffs. They do some around £50. Some of the models are MSA Sordin rebranded Deben. webber I have these and they do my nut in. Occasionally, they work, but usually after the first shot they let rip with a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa noise. It completely puts you off your second or third shot. I think I'd stump up for the Peltors, but to be honest I've gotten used to not using the electronic feature because of this. i use the peltor optome III. fantastic value. and protect your hearing. I agree, but they are a bit like wearing 2 dustbins and get in the way of my mount

spot.ontheroad
I use MSA Sordin supreme. Excellent in all respects. Relatively expensive but perhaps you get what you pay for. Unfortunately. I have not tried any other makes so can not make comparisons.
