Harnser
I have been shooting my friends farms for many ,many years and have allways made the attempt to get to know his neighbouring farmers . I have allways introduced myself to them when I have come across them on the boundaries and told them who I was and what I was doing . Over the years I have got to know these neighbours very well and have had many a phone call to come and shoot pigeons and deer when they have become a problem . Today one of the neighbours took the time to call me and invited me to a day's pheasant shooting on Wednesday this week . A 1000 Acre walk one and shoot one with some proper old country men . This is my second invite of the season . The first invite was from another neighbour . Make the effort to know your farmers neighbours, it won't do you any harm . Harnser. wymberley
Yep, not just the neighbouring farmers; there's usually more farmhouses than farms now which are often sold on or rented out plus the local cottages. When you spot that these have changed hands, it's never a bad thing to pop in and 'show your face'. Just picked up a nice piece of woodland that the previous owners of one cottage would not let me shoot and on a rented farmhouse I've now been given access through one gate which now provides access to a fox hot spot which I couldn't get to when the stock was in one particular field and usually for several weeks at a time. Small things but it makes life easier and costs no more than a brace or two.
