roebuck1
Hi Chaps, I'm being taken roe doe stalking for the first time next week. As you cant exactly take home antlers. Is there any physical aspect of a doe anyone keeps longterm? A mounted head or hide? Any comments are much appreciated, Regards Edited November 4, 2014 by roebuck1
stumpy69
Not that I know of, I suppose you could mount the head but all does skulls look alike except for a small difference in size. I have never had any success with roe hides ion winter coat, they just seem to loose hair. I suppose doe stalking is generally cheaper as it does not attract the trophy hunters as there is no trophy. rich1985
Keep a front foot, from the knee joint down, get yourself a straight bit of hazel and have the leg mounted on the walking stick, I've done this a few times, looks good, I'm sure if you google imaged it it would come up with some pics. Just had a look, go google images and search deer foot walking stick, loads of bits on there. All the best.
