Devon Fox
I am a driving instructor, and on a lesson i was hit from behind by a girl racer at 25mph while at a junction. I felt fine for 24 hours, but then ..... jesus! Get yourself checked out first at A&E, as that helps the claim. Between me and the pupil, we claimed just short of £6000, it doesnt help though as i still suffer 2 years later. Remember fellas, get the head restraints adjusted properly for you and your passengers, your ear should be in the middle of the head restraint when you turn your head sideways, that will stop whiplash to an extent if the worst should happen! Lord Geordie
Most will try and settle betwee £1000 and £1500 but some go a tad futher depending on how long the whiplash injury lasts etc! You MUST go to A&E and KEEP pestering your doctor to get any chance of a Decent claim. Tell him the tablets he gives you don't work etc. I got £1700 when i was knocked off the Bike. As i am Living on my OWN with the bairn i couldn't do the basic things like Hanging out the clothes to dry or Carry the shopping home etc. I later found out because of this i COULD have claimed more but i HAD put down on the claims form things such as Sex life (which is non existent)was put on hold due to the whiplash Can't hug the bairn as i can't pick him up etc and this has put a strain on being a single parent Takes over 20 mins to get out of bed as there is a huge pain when lifting my head from the pillow in the morning Find it Difficult to Bathe You need Help to get dressed As i say I received £1700 but i wouldn't want to have it again for 3 times that I still get a headache down the right side of my head and neck which i am SURE was from the crash as i never suffered from it before the latest bout has lasted 5 days and i STILL have it Keep a record of the Pain the severity the trips to the docs etc and send THOSE in with your claim. Frostbite
Just before Christmas a guy driving a transit van ploughed into the side of my car. "Luckily" the impact was on the front passenger side which i was sitting and the 2 kids+wifey were realitvely unhurt. Transist van goes into reverse then hits a lamp post about 40 feet away. A couple of public spirited drivers who witnessed all this leapt out and apprehended the driver as he tried to run away, one of whom got a smack in the eye for his trouble. Turns out the driver was Polish, been working here illegally and was 2.5 times over the drink drive limit....and of course had no insurance. The repair bill for my car £2800 which i had to claim off my own insurance and the personal injuries has to be claimed from some `slush` fund set up by insurance companies, which i have been told will take forever+ the payouts are at the lower end of the scale. As for the driver, he was charged with drink driving, leaving the scene of a accident and assault. Of course he has now done a runner and police say it is unlikely he will be found. So i would like to take this opportunity to thank Tony Blair for allowing our eastern european cousins to freely enter our country and not burden them with paying taxes if they dont like ,ignore our laws and avail the full benefits of our NHS.
