permission

Recommended Posts

its always hard to get your foot in the door you have to keep at it once your in and you do your job word spreads about your deeds and you end up with more than you could possibly need :good:

Is it best to go in with a pest control slant on things? Im quite newish to the sport (although I grew up surrounded by it) and would dearly love a permission to learn the ins and outs of rough shooting but Im no expert regards pigeon decoying etc and would not be comfortable telling a farmer I could keep his pigeon or rabbit population under control jsut yet.

Some time back I offered a local guy in Leicestershire from PW the Oppertunity to come join me, lamping, c/f shooting, fishing and air rifle shooting on my land even the odd trip stalking. After numerous offers he never showed so stopped offering. Then I did the same on another forum and the same thing I did all the leg work for a guy who lived 5 miles from me and my land is 10 minutes from my house, all he had to do was call me again a no show.

Very sad as neither had an FAC and I often get together with 7/8 friends to shoot for the day on my range out to 300/400 yards or fish in one of 5 lakes and camp in the summer. I feel many like the idea of a permission but only want to use it once in a while or on a nice day, the unfortunate thing is I feel reluctant to put the offer out again.

Why did you keep offering then? Surely once is enough after being stood up, why keep trying with said invitee?

I would of thought been offered five lakes, camping with your friends and deer stalking an offer would be a tasty morsel not worth refusing.
