LEFTY478
Going to a do at Larkhill, Wilts tonight and have a day off tomorrow. Any recommendations for a clay ground that's open on Thursdays? Cheers Lefty.
Catamong
Lefty, You could try Lains, near Andover, it's a nice ground: http://www.lainsshootingschool.co.uk/location.html or The Shooting Club, can't comment on this one as I've not shot it, but I think it's a bit nearer Larkhill: http://www.theshootingclub.com/about.htm Let us know what you think of it. Yep, Wylye's a good ground, I didn't mention it because unlike the others I mentioned, I don't think you can just turn up and shoot on weekday's, I think it's by appointment only..?? Cat. I went down to The shooting Club, at Widdington Farm. Really nice ground and a beautiful day, too. Good use of their topography and plenty of testing stands. Prices; 100 birds/£25, members save £2. Spacious clubroom with hot food and drinks and very clean facilties. Bacon an egg bap, yum-yum! On the down side, alot of mixy bunnies in the area (Salisbury Plain), one walked/crawled of of cover and lay 7 yards in front of stand 8 - I did the decent thing. Counted another four dead. Catamong
Lefty, Glad you had a good time, I must get there myself soon as they have a series of Registered Sporting shoots coming up, I've also heard from a very reliable source that they are hosting the Classic Sporting shoot this year, (organised by Clay Shooting Magazine).
