brett1985
a couple of the guys on our shoot will occasionally break out the 28 bores and theyre averages dont seem to be affected. they are cracking shots mind.... i have seen one of them drop VERY high birds with his 28. so a 20 is more than adequate. michufc
I had shot 12g from when I started used it for everything untill I used my mates 20g I found that I shot the same amount. Like it's been said before it's about being comfortable with what you shoot with not listening to other people slagging one gun off over another the truth is that people look for excuses why they didn't hit that bird or that bird rather than saying I was having a bad day. Me personally I changed to a 20 as it suited my shooting better as most of it's over the dogs but I don't feel that I have handicapped myself at all Just enjoy your gun stick with the load you shoot well with consistently and the rest will take care of itself Regards mike
Ears
Only a few years back I was shooting with a Caesar Guerini Essex sporter 32 barrelled 20 bore for around 4 years. 28 grams 5 shot 3/4 and full choke plas wads. That gun would whack out 50 yard pheasents one after the other if you landed the lead on em. But if you gonna have high bird days and lots of em. Go back on a 12gauge cause its getting maximum for a 20g.
