EMcC
Use a lead fishing weight on a length of twine, lob it up the tree, tie the lofter on the end and pull it up to a suitable height and tie off. It will give more movement.

Westley
Old lead round fishing weight, builders twine and good catapult. Fire lead over branch, fix decoy by pushing loop of string through hole on back of deek, then insert small piece of dried twig. When bringing down, if decoy gets stuck, the twig will snap and the decoy is released to fall down. You can fix several deeks to 1 string. pernod
If the trees arnt too high , i use a gundog training dummy tied onto a spinning reel. Throw dummy over branch, retrieve when on ground, remove dummy, tie on a decoy and pull up into tree. Quite easy when you get the knack. A lot easier than faffing about with poles. pernod
