SuperGoose75
I watched 'Great Expectations' recently also. Wonderful film. I tried to watch the remake with Helena Bonham-Carter et all around Christmas but it was dire in comparison. I'm assuming you've seen the fabulous 'Hobson's Choice' ? Possibly Mills' greatest role in my opinion. I got the Helen B C' adaptation out on Dvd when it was released and although I enjoyed it' It was not a patch on the original. ref-John Mills,I seem to come across his Films more by chance' whilst flicking through the box he Starred in so many.To be honest the film you mention doesnt ring a bell with me but there is a good chance I have watched it. The long memory is one that stands out that I enjoyed.I also have seen a few oldies with his daughter Haley acting in them that I also enjoyed. I just like the man in a Film. SuperGoose75
John Wayne hated High Noon - said it was un-American, because he disliked the idea that Will Kane would be left to deal with the baddies on his own. Much as I have time for John Wayne, it was a better film than he ever appeared in. As a Western movie lover' i would not agree with that. Although High Noon' is a superb Film and it rightly won 4 Oscars ' If i was to name my top ten Westerns it would be in there but i would have a few of john Waynes films ahead of it. Of course that is my personal preference and I also respect yours.
