Daveo26
Gents I need abit of help, Iv got nearly a straight throughs system on my 90, it drones like a bitch on the motorway. I was thinking of adding a small back box somewhere in the system. I have facility's to weld one in but I'm struggling to find a suitable back box. It needs to be 2 1/2" bore and about 12" long. Any ideas? Iv seen cherry bombs on eBay but they are only 3" o/d doubt they would make much difference? I don't have the original box and iv been disappointed with replacement exhausts in the past, So I'm not bothered about putting a full back box on. landy george
I picked one up from one of the land rover shows for £10. Think it come off a 4.0 petrol Range Rover. It fits between the chassis & tub, out the side.
mrwabbits
Euro car parts do the Klarius LR148E Exhaust Rear Back Box , approx £50 thereabouts. You need some amount of back pressure to make it efficient and get the gasses swirl effect . google it for suppliers.
Xr1200
Why don't you sleeve your middle section up to suit the silencer
Daveo26
No mate, the cherry bombs are a 2 1/2" bore but the body is only 3" not leaving much space for expanding gasses so i would think it wouldnt make that much difference??? Googling Klarius LR148E Exhaust Rear Back Box right now....

Fib new
I don't have a td5 90 -mines a td5 110- but I drive with only the backbox. Nice sound when revving, but no big difference driving at constant speed.
Daveo26
Maybe that longer pipe quietens it a bit more, Iv also got a condition that gives me tinnitus, and that frequency in my 90 sets it off All I know is I can't stands no more.
