adi786
Quick one guys, am looking forward to apply for FAC t use air rifle for pest, FAO told me to get a form signed by the land am allowed to shoot and include it with my application. Question is, if i get my FAC for air rifle using my current permission, if tomorrow i get some new permissions or if i go to one of my friends permission, would i be able to use my FAC or i need some kind of variation etc? spready
I had my FAC granted for one piece of land i have and now other farms i checked with the firearms department and they can tell if the lands been clear or no. On most of mine i was lucky as they had cleared it for much higher calibre in the past than what I'm using anyway what ,so i was fine to use it there as long as i had permission to shoot there. one other area i shoot at wasn't cleared so had to fill in a 'Game/Vermin' form off the hampshire police website , get it filled in and signed by the land owner and then post it off to the firearms department and WAIT for it to be cleared, its pretty easy but can take time
Muddy Funker
Yes you can use it as long as the land is already cleared up to that calibre. So if it's cleared to 17HMR for example you'll be fine. If no one has ever shot the land you'll need to email feo to have them visit and effectively risk ***** the land and decide what it can be cleared for.None of this applies if you have what is referred to as an open licence which on your first application you'll be un likely to get. bluesj
If your FAC is not "open" and it probably won't be you will have to check with your FEO that the ground has been passed.
