JimLondon
Has anyone got any experience or attempted to repair a heated rear window element. The element on my trooper is only heating the top half of the screen and it's starting to bug me. Any advice will be warmly received (pun intended) Jim
neil82
if you can see a break in the element it can sometimes be bridged with a high silver content paint from maplins, might take a couple of coats to give enough to carry the currant tho
JimLondon
I can't see any noticeable breaks in the element tough the strips do look very thin Jim
keg
It does not need much of a break, if you have a magnifying glass, go over it with that, some of the breaks really are that small. As Neil says, the paint from Maplin can work a treat. I've seen a dog's claw do it before now.
la bala
Time to get the multi meter out
neil82
Time to get the multi meter out trouble is trying to trace the break with a meter you have to scrape through a varnish coating the conductive strips, magnifying glass is probably easier, or a strong light shining through and looking at the other side
