bobt
For the last couple of years I have been tying to find out who owns a field that runs up to a railway, it is running with rabbits and I fancy a go at them, I shoot the bit half a mile further along and another a mile over again, all on the same line. this morning the bloke was in the field with a tractor, so nothing ventured etc. it turns out I vaugely know him and after a bit of name dropping, I now have another 300 acres to play on. tiercel
bobt, You are going about it in the right way. Keeping you eye's open for any opportunity, talking to people. One way I used to get a lot of ferreting was driving around the countryside at night with just the lamp. If you found a lot of rabbits in one area, you could then approach the farmers during the day. Once you had one farm in the area, as you say a bit of name-dropping goes a long way. Well done
