Underdog
are we talking about chrome plating or chrome content of metal..... 2 different things there, Only one thing as you put it has been mentioned and it is not plating!Chrome, vanadium, manganese and nickel are just a few things added to modern fluid steel barrels alloys. sishyplops
I did read a discussion may of even been on PW but was an old thread about Browning Fixed choke guns not being steel proof but the invector and invector plus are (we are talking newer guns from 525 onwards) the chap had a manual and it stated only inv or inv plus guns were proofed for steel, the debate was whether browning would bother to make two different barrels or all barrels are equal and only the M/C versions are stamped Fleur de lis , my guess is that nearly all the FC guns are either trap guns of to tight a restriction or game guns like the MK60 which of course is 1/4-3/4 however i'm sure you can still get a 1/4-1/2 game gun my 2005 525 advance is fleur de lis stamped but a slightly newer MK60 i owned was not, nor was an MK38 trap gun again newer than mine that i looked at yesterday has anyone got a Browning or Miroku Manual to verify this? (post 525 era)
