Frozen Fish - Anything actually edible?

Not exactly as per OP but I am often given quantities of by catch codling from the local creel fishery. Filleted I freeze them in pack sizes we are going to use, allowed to de-frost slowly in the fridge and deep fried in a light batter they are nothing short of perfect. To me these cod fillets are as good as the legendary haddock the freezing and de-frosting seems to make for a drier and firmer flesh. Most white fish benefit from being kept on ice or in a fridge for around at least 12 hours before cooking. Fresh from the sea is liable to flake into small pieces in the pan.
