taxidermy dave
Depends what you mean by mooch,if you mean a walk about there should be birds about all the time in the trees, hedges etc.If you mean decoying i normally find early as possible till about 11-12,then they should pick up again about 2.-3(thats how it normally is round here)As for roost shooting mine pretty much stopped in jan, dunno if any of the other guys are still having any luck? hope this is of some help?.. dave
steve b
you can still roost shoot but the trees are really coming into leaf now making it more difficult but if you are on the edge of a wood you can still get then coming in towards evening time

I try to be set up by about 8.00am. The first hour is usually the best as I catch them coming out of the woods for a feed. It drops off then towards about 12.00. After that it is a long wait until about 3.00pm when they come back for their tea! Finally often I catch a few late ones before packing up about 5.00 - 5.30pm. All these timings are for about this time of year of course. I don't do any roost shooting this time of year, only decoying.
