James1983
Earlier this week we noticed our springer was licking his left paw constantly upon checking him we found a small lump. So off to the vets we went he was due his 6month health check anyway so showed the nurse and she suggested getting the vet to look at it. The vet took a look and was puzzled to what it could be she didn't think it would be a grass seed due to its position (left paw on the outside kind of opposite side to where dew claws are) she thought maybe it could be a bite or an infected cut. So gave him metacam and some antibiotic scrub to clean it with. If that didn't work they will have to investigate further and cut it out. Doesn't look to be getting any better if anything we think it may of grown since Monday. It's not bothering when walking but will lick us if we touch it or try pull his paw away. Anyone ever seen anything like this before? Edited June 24, 2015 by James1983
bigbird
Funnily enough one of my springers has a couple of these. Slightly raised skin, feels like a scab underneath? Tried everything, antibiotic cream, scrub, even Sudocrem! They haven't disappeared but neither have they got any worse and don't seem to bother her at all. James1983
Can't feel no scab on it as he had plenty of cuts that have scabbed over and raised a bit so thought was something like an infected cut at first. It's a hard lump and it bothers him when we touch it. He will never growl or make a noise when in pain but instead licks us and tries to pull away. He constantly trying to lick it which we doing the best to stop him. He has a collar but after putting it on and him acting like a bucking bronco it had to come off as he was really stressing with it! Just hoping it clears up and he doesn't need it operating on.
