PaulJC
One of my 'worse weather' hobbies is a bit more creative and involves mostly 3D designing of stuff, just recently i've been getting some of them 3D printed When i'm shooting clays I like to row my cartridges up on the stand before shooting them, then it's not unusual for me to knock them over or completely throw them over the edge, well not anymore And also following a thread on here about a barrel mounted GoPro i thought i'd have a go at making up a mount for them, here it is as it's just arrived, the idea being some foam lining to stop any damage to the barrel and having it attached with some velcro straps to keep it in place I also fly Multirotors and one of the alternatives we use to GoPro's is a 'RunCam', nice little form factor and HD quality so i've made up an adapter for it to fit in GoPro mounts and i'll soon be testing it to see if it can handle the recoil mounted on a barrel, the cameras only cost about £40 delivered so not the end of the world if it craps out... steve_b_wales
Very good. How much would a Go Pro barrel mount be, if you were to sell one?
PaulJC
Very good. How much would a Go Pro barrel mount be, if you were to sell one? Give me a few days to test fit and adjust as required, the printing cost depends on the amount of material used so any changes made will have an effect.... PaulJC
Have made a few adjustments to the GoPro fitment part just to beef it up a little, just awaiting delivery on some 2mm adhesive backed neoprene that i have ordered to protect the barrel from damage and so i can check the barrel fit and make sure no tweaks are needed in that department then i'll get an updated price on printing... It's been designed using measurements to fit my 12g Lanber Sporting, but the Neoprene should allow a bit of 'give' one way...
PaulJC
Still waiting on the neoprene to fully test fit before an order can be placed... However we are probably looking at a tenner posted, that's for the 3D printed part, lined with 2mm Neoprene, a gopro screw and nut and 2 velcro loops to hold it in place... PaulJC
Well, the neoprene arrived today which gave me a chance to have a proper trial fitting The mount fits well, the neoprene has enough grip on the barrel that longways you can actually pick the gun up by it and it won't move however it doesn't grip so much that you can't rotate the camera around the barrel a bit for adjustment if you need to and personally if i knock it on something i'd rather it move a little in that respect anyway... I'm going to get 10 printed up initially, 6 of these have been earmarked already by: Myself A friend off forum Steve_B_wales Mungler Joe1978 Darno Leaving 4 if anyone else fancies a go with one... (Please excuse the crappy camera phone pics) I have got a few minor changes to make, there will be recesses for the straps to sit in, i don't think it'll happen but it will take away any chance of them slipping off, and the velcro supplied will be wider than what is seen here, i'm just waiting for it to arrive... I am hoping to have them 'In Hand' by the end of next week Oh and they will be printed in a dark grey or black colour, the end result looking similar to this... subsonicnat
I'll keep everyone posted on progress as it happens If you want to scribble down some measurements and send them over i can make it happen Hi Paul, as I said, it needs to fit a O/U, Like yours. As most people will have them, A FIGURE OF EIGHT, CLAMPING ON .. Barrel, and not having the tendency to TWIST Out of alignment when fired.. The legs going towards the Rib in the Middle acting as a STOP Both Sides.. Will measure my camera Dia, and PM You if you don't Mind. Slightly different sizes can be bushed up with thin foam to fit tight.
