mikewareing
Just been out for the first time with my Armi Sport .45" calibre smoothbore kentucky shotgun. I fired half a dozen shots using 24 grains of Black powder and 10g or 1/3rd ounce of shot. What a lot of fun, a crack immediately followed by a Boom! wait for the smoke to clear to see if I hit the target. I had a couple of misfires which I put down to the percussion caps due to them being a little large for the nipple. 1218 top hat caps on a 4.7mm dia nipple. I would welcome any advice on alternative loads. What a smelly dirty hobby, but I love it. Regards Mike

bruno22rf
Might help with the misfires if you cock or half cock the hammer before you put the powder and shot wad down the tube-seems to force powder into the nipple in my experience-used to suffer a similar problem with my .45.
