Android Voice Dial (That doesnt need internet)

As above, ever since an update ages ago my works (Motorola) phone will now only voice dial using Google - that will only work with a data connection - i cannot understand why i would need a data connection to call contacts on my phone but its beginning to drive me insane as all i get is this internet connection is not good enough or just a boing sound

 

its fine in the city ... in the sticks i am close to chucking the thing out the window!!!!!

Try;

Settings

Language & Keyboard

Speech Input

You may have "Enhanced Google Voice Services" enabled (or something similar)

Select "Basic Google recognition"

 

If this doesn't work, try asking on Android Central or the Android forums.

Many Thanks - it was set to enhanced.
