Caravanman
Anyone used the above cartridge for clays and or crows/pigeon?
Catamong
Yes, i use the 28g Plaswad 7.5's for Pigeons through a Light Mod choke, a superb shell, provided you take birds at sensible ranges, every bit as good as a comparable load in lead. The biggest problem is finding somebody that stocks them..? I don't shoot many crows but would prefer to stick to a decent lead 32g 5's as they can take a bit of stopping. I've also shot clays with them, first time out I did a 24 ex 25 on a fairly tough Compak layout in France, but they are a bit thumpy on the shoulder through an O/U, (I use a semi for pigeons). Cat. Caravanman
They will be used at 30 yards max through a Kicks High Flyer full choke.

Caravanman
It will be mainly corvids. I bought a couple of different boxes of shells to try as I have been very disappointed with the last type I tried - Clever Mirage felt was 32g 6. Almost everything I've hit has required a follow up shot or despatched by hand. Eley Pigeon 30g 6.5 were a fantastic shell on the corvids but are now hard for me to get. dougall
Cat, interesting you say easily as good as lead...I must try these out as have avoided steel(other than ducks)...would 7.5 steel take out 40 yard pigeon ok or do go up to 6s etc? As I said earlier, I wouldn't recommend steel in 7.5's 28g for crows, why would you want to shoot steel at crows anyway, given the choice I would always opt for lead...? . No, stick with 7.5's and do not be tempted to go up on.the shot size, I've tried it and it doesn't work, I've shot 35g 4's at young first year birds that have jumped up and flown off as I've gone out to pick them up, you need a dense pattern of small shot to guarantee a clean kill up to about 40 yards.. Cat I fancy trying something different. I've got a box of 32g 5 steel to try as well.
