deershooter
You can only shoot on ranges if you are a full member of a target shooting club and your firearm is conditioned for range use if your permission is not safe to zero on its not safe to shoot on sorted Deershooter
fortune
The ranges down in Lydd and Hythe are military ranges and to get on them you got to be a full member of a club. Zero on your permission. if its windy wait for a lull in the wind. The lull might be only for a few seconds but the wind doesn't blow all of the time and when you do go shooting the wind ain't going to stop because you are shooting. Wind gusts are like waves and you have to wait until it lessens. on ranges they have small flags. Also you don't have to zero at long range to get on. try at thirty paces. this is about the same poi as 150. just stake a reasonable size cardboard box, felt mark a dot about an inch across. this will get you on within 3 shots and then go out to 100. you want to be about an inch high. this will still be within area out to 150. As stated above >>if your permission is not safe to zero on its not safe to shoot on Edited December 27, 2015 by fortune

fortune
The problem is that there are no approved ranges anywhere that you can just roll up to and shoot. all approved ranges are either military or club and to shoot on them you have to be a full member of an approved club which can take up to three months probationary period. at the end of the day it is zero on your permission or wait for a fair time and jump through a load more hoops to get onto a range. PS you have to attend the club on a regular basis to hold the membership and they are duty bound to inform the firearms dept if you dont.
