seph234
No problem with a difference of opinion. and like i said it was 3 years ago so they could of changed there formula. but the paint i bought back then, gave like an artex finish which was really chalky when dry. Glad your Happy with it and it still looks good.
vampire
depends if they've polished it up or not. if it's all shiny then I rub it down with a pole sander, then about 10% water in a basic trade matt will suffice, then 2 coats of something decent to finish. paint isn't what it used to be, I remember when dulux super matt had to be thinned as it was so thick you could trowel it on. As Paddy Galore! said,10% is about right,or people use pva,B&Q bare plaster sealer is good. We always use super cheap matt and thin down for mist coats, followed by dulux trade two full coats, endurance if its trafficked area, our dog room is coated with this and its hard wearing wipeable. Tip if you interested, or as fussy as me,use wide beam torch to shine along wall which highlights bad plastering/decorating.
Albert 888
Thanks for all the info guys. I used Leyland contract emulsion watered down 10% and it's worked really well. Just another room to do tomorrow and the top coats in the afternoon. Used it for the ceiling also undiluted and I'm impressed with the coverage and finish.
