Glenlivet
Hi guys. I'd like to disable the auto safety on my ( wife's) Beretta SPS. I'm handy but have never worked on a gun before. Is this something I could tackle or is a visit to the gunsmith in order? Detailed instructions would be useful if diy in order.
Gunman
Take the stock off . Remove the safe catch retaining pin . Withdraw the safe and remove and the screw beneath it . Fire or release the hammers on both barrels and remove the main springs .Remove trigger plate locking and retaining pins and remover trigger plate Under the top strap you will see a small screw that holds the safe spring and retains the safe activating rod , remove this and reassemble in reverse order . A thread lock should be used on the pin under the safe button . N B Be careful that no pins or wires drop out of the trigger plate [ not common but not unknown] . As rebound is set on each hammer spring ensure the springs are put back in their correct sides .
Glenlivet
Wow, thanks. As this is my wife's gun, (on my ticket) I'll try step 1 and see how it goes :-)

robbiep
Or take it to a gun smith . Harnser Last time I had this done, it cost the princely sum of £20. To me, not worth messing around with it.
