Floor screed

well my advice is mak sure you get it level. if you are goin to tile the floor leave a very level finish and leave it slightly rough, this will allow the tiles to stick down better.

a good thing to do is to have a level chalk line the whole way round the room. this will give you something to work to and make the job easier. if you dont have one they are about £5 from you local DIY shop.

if you havent start in the highest corner and work your way back towards an exit, this will allow a good covering across the whole floor.

then keep off of it for about a week if you can make sure it is properly set before walking on it.

good luck B)

1. Use a semi dry mix of sharp sand/cement at about 4:1 ratio.

2. The mix should be dryish but still hold together when squeezed together.

3. Lay the mix, compact well to leave about one inch above the required finished floor level.

4. Screed off with a straight edge until the floor level is attained.

5. Gently rub with a wood or polyurethane float trowel, using small amounts of mix to fill any blemishes.

5. Trowel off with a steel float to finish.

Hop this helps.

as apbuild said

run a screed round the room to the level required, then fill the middle, ruling of the screeds, if its a big area you can get a retarder in it to slow the curing? give yourself a bit moor time to work it.

when i drop a floor i always yous a kneeling pad, saves a lot of cement burns
