southwest1984
Afternoon, Just a quick question. On my shotgun that has had not a great deal of use has got some rubbing on the bluing where the fore grip goes into the barrels. Is this normal? southwest1984
Short and sweet, but thanks for the reply. I was well annoyed at myself, didn't think I had been putting it properly and had scratched the barrels.
Glenlivet
Unfortunately yes.
ChrisPCarter
Are there any quick fix solutions for marks like this or is it a case of getting the barrels re-blued? I've got a nice old AYA No.2 that has a few scuffs on the barrel that I'd like sorting.

Wingman
That's just normal wear and tear. You would be forever patching it up if you repaired every little blemish.

The rubs should be hidden by the forend so suggest you live with it. Edited February 28, 2016 by Glenlivet
ChrisPCarter
I meant marks in general, I'm not bothered about under the forend as like you say they aren't visible and will wear quick. I'd just like to get rid of a few marks which are annoying but the rest of the barrels are a nice colour for their age so I didn't particularly want the whole lot looking too black. They are definitely more blue than black too so I'd like to keep it a similar colour.
