wraivi
Went out this afternoon with shooting buddy and fellow PW'er, Pesky Pigeon for a bit of pest control/roost shooting on our shoot. After a few recces through the week, we got into our chosen spot around 4:30pm. There seemed to be a few passing over, but few committed to the woodland and it turned out to be a very quiet afternoon. A big difference from what our recces had shown, but that's how it goes sometimes. Anyway, and somewhat strangely,in the bushes a few metres from where I was standing, there was an old bbq grill. With the flight lines seemingly petered out, a bored dog and some curiosity, a quick inspection was made, & determined the barbie was fit for purpose! With plenty of light left and not much going on, firewood was collected and soon a good bed of coals formed. 3 birds were quickly breasted and placed on the barbie. An hour from sky to grill.....doesn't get much fresher, and damn fine tasting they were too. A very enjoyable end to a very pleasant afternoon. Danger-Mouse
Nice way to end the day. I do hope the fine looking fellow on the left was given his fair share of the bounty.
wraivi
Absolutely, a valued member of the shooting party, plus, he's my boy! He certainly makes his presence felt in the vicinity of food, in typical lab style. No way to resist the looks I get from him when theres scoff to be had. Even Pesky pigeon fell for his charms & was forced to part with some of his grub.
