Difference between Scrim and netting?

Recommended Posts

I have been looking into getting a hide and the various types of cover netting that come across. So what is the difference between scrim and netting??? I read the previous camo post and realise I need a net of at least 10x6 (probably, 15x10) so just wondered what the actual difference was (other than prices)!?

Scrim is a single textile, with cut or die-cut patterns which aim to break up the shape of that behind it.

Netting is that, netting usually with something like scrim, or die-cut leaves attached to the netting.

The stealth net is a net, with scrim attached and seems to be extremely popular, best of both worlds. I use it and I know a load who also do, in all but absolute direct sunlight you don't need anything else. Even then if you keep still you still don't need anything else.

Thanks pin, but I am sort of worried the stealth net wont be enough to make a reasonable sized hide with a roof, as currently i will be using it lying prone waiting with the air rifles for corvids.

ha ha, well assuming hide poles are a min of 1.15m then in order to make a cube like hide then would need 3.5m x 3.5m of netting to have a hide with 1m ish width and then go back around 2.35m.

So is scrim actually see through?
