Hendrix's rifle
So around half an hour ago I got a call from a chap called Greg Walsh, Cheshire's fao. After a 15 minute phone call with him explaining what's going to happen and what he is going to look at. I pre-warned him about the dogs because they do sound vicious and told him they would be locked away. So 2 months and a week after applying my interview is 31st of march, happy days

David BASC
Good luck, my experience of Cheshire has not bee great, last renewal they took over 6 months to do the visit, came round during the day unannounced when I was not in, made an appointment which they did not keep, sent an ARV round three times, twice they spoke to my then 16 year old daughter, ...then when they finally came in the evening when I was in they had a little pop at me for not being around hewn they called before...smiled, said nothing, showed them the cabinet... As David has said - expect nothing, and then smile a lot..... They used to be truly, absolutely, dreadful, but on my last renewal I was pleasantly surprised.... PeterHenry
They kicked up a fuss about granting me a .30-06 for deer stalking a few years ago, despite having decided at the same time (and of their own accord) to grant me an open licence for my .22WMR. Although I take my hat off to BASC for sorting it out to a reasonable compromise - which was as far as the somewhat obstinate (but I'm sure, lovely in their own way) members of Cheshire constabulary were willing to go. However, I do have my suspicions that this was the root cause of the two 6ft+ police officers turning up at my house to check my guns and cabinet completly out of the blue. Hendrix's rifle
UPDATE- interview was today, the fella who came was a nice guy and was here for a good hour. Asked me a few questions and any concerns i had. Also brought up a bit of history about me that was slightly concerning when I was 15 however after I explained all was well. No convictions or anything just 1 verbal caution. What are the odds do you guys reckon? Put in for 17 hmr and 22 wmr, the 22 for fox and vermin and the 17 for vermin only so suppose I cant grumble happy days

Les*1066
I've had nothing but good experiences with the Cheshire firearms department. HR - when that brown envelope comes through your door, all the waiting and worrying fades into insignificance. That's when the bank balance will decrease at the same rate that your smile will increase!
