Hi Darren

I feed my dogs on Skinners http://www.skinnerspetfoods.co.uk

I feed them Field & Trial Working23 during the season when they are working regularly! After the season I put them on Field & Trial maintenance which has a lower protein content!

I have tried several brands but have found the dogs do very well on Skinners!

I buy 6 bags at a time and pay £10.40 per bag I buy from a company based in Redditch who deliver nationwide, the local feed stockist charges £17 a bag :D

Whilst on the topic of feeding dogs, does anyone feed their dogs on a BARF diet

(Bones And Raw Food). If so have you found it beneficial to the dogs?

Cheers

I am converting my pooch slowly onto the barf diet.

He still gets some complete ,food . lightly steamed veg . the water from which gets put in with his food . Minced heart , liver , and some beef (when funds permit) fish scraps from the chippie .

I still use chappie dog food (its a bit crappy but does contain fish and all sort of other rubbish )

He also gets bones ( only beef and sheep) and chicken wings .

I found that it was hard to keep some weight on him on just a pure barf diet.

Just reread your post about any benifits . I have found the Lemmy to be less hyper. Now i don't know if this is down to him "growing up" or the diet .. I can't tell !!

Any more questions you have i'll do my best to answer .

all the best yis yp :D

Darren" it all depends on the size of dog , and I don't mean Jack russel or rottviller.

If your dog is a lab you get big boned /you get small boned. but genraly for each kilo of weigh 250 gms of food a day. Use a good quality dried food and you will have no probs.

Thanks for the info YP!

I will be interested in how your dog does on the diet over the coming months!

Interesting point about your dog being less hyper as this point was mentioned by a chap I spoke to who fed the BARF diet to his dogs!

Sorry for the late reply, been enjoying the North Norfolk Coast for the past week.

Cheers
