Gun Watch
Gallyon & Sons £295 12 gauge Shotgun Trade Seller Used - Very Good Condition Harpenden, Hertfordshire Side by Side, 1/4 Choke, Full Choke, 28" barrels Description There are dozens of provincial English gun makers known to the collector but none have the heritage of the Gallyon family. Starting in Cambridge in 1784 and also trading in Kings Lynn from 1930, when this gun was made, the firm has been in the same family continuously and sells used guns from their website This side by side is in great condition. The 14.5†stock with recoil pad is of figured walnut showing a fiddleback pattern in the grain. The chequering is crisp and there is a vacant oval for initials. The action is plain and inscribed with the makers name. The gun closes with a confident click and is as tight as the day it was made. The most important part of any vintage collectable that you want to use regularly are the barrels and these are perfect, 28†choked ¼ and full under an inscribed raised concave rib. As a later model it has the advantage of 2 ¾ chambers. Check out the prices on other sites. This is a bargain at £295. I have about 25 of these provincial guns by various English and Scottish makers as well as a vast range of imports. Phone on 01582 768617 or text on 07453506500 rather than email.
