Mr Swivel
I have the 177 version of the Umarex 850 Air Magnum Co2 rifle which is v powerfull and accurate. However I would like to hunt but am concerned that the 177 calibre pellet does not have the instant kill capability as the .22 pellet. Are my concerns valid? monkeyjaimz
Provided you can put the pellet in the right place, no. .177 is perfectly capable of despatching airgun quarry. I was out last night with a friend of mine at one of his permissons as a guest and took a full grown buck rabbit with one shot to the head at 36 yrds with my S200 .177 As long as you can shoot accurately and place the pellet correctly with constistency, you wont have a problem. Hope this helps

SNAKEBITE
Rather than the calibre I would watch that you have sufficient power with using the co2 cannisters. How many full power shots do you get with a cannister?
Lefty gunz
I used .22 for hunting for a year or so and then changed to .177. There are pro's and cons to each calibre but in my opinion .177 is the better tool. It will do the job if you can do your part properly.
