Pillar bed or GRS berserk stock

I have a tikka t3 ctr .308. Currently shootibg about .5moa. It is a synthetic stock and thinking of getting it pillar bedded. Have come across the GRS beserk stock which looks nice and claims to already be bedded- however as it is a ctr with metal bottom and 10 shot mag it will require gunsmith work to get stock to fit.

Anyone pillar/ or just bedded a synthetic t3?

Reviews on the GRS stock.

Any idea of costs of bedding?

Thanks

It's not very effective to bed a plastic stock. Composite solids are a different matter entirely. A good laminate or composite solid is the best choice

Bedding on pillars isn't totally required on good composites for hunting but doest harm. True 0.5 moa meaning past 100 yards and one must question how much more you expect to get

I bed hunting rifles with timber stocks so they retain zero through changing climates not particularly the accuracy potential

It's two half days to do. You get charged different prices by different people but if your handy and fully understand the how and why it isn't that hard to diy

Reply from GRS to just the same question i asked a couple weeks back

There is always a potential of adding to precision when bedding any stock, but it was not our

intention when making this particular stock. The receiver will sit tight in the stock resting on

glued-in pillars - so I would recommend testing before spending any money on additional bedding.

You could also play around with action screw torque to see if this affects precision at all. After all,

guns tend to be a little individual and likes different things..

Hi, thanks for replies. Have free floated barrel to the action so will see if that makes much of a differance. The GRS would have to be modified to fit my ctr bottom metal and not sure just how much work that would be.

Other option is a laminate stock and pillar bed it as mentioned earlier and still have the synthetic stock in case I want to lighten the rifle later.
