foxbasher
Afternoon all. Moved house in the last few months and aquired rarther a large garden with a chicken run. Dont really want the normal livestock so was wondering if anyone around south hants had a few hen Pheasants going spare. They would be secure at night and have freerange of a large garden during the day. Can collect and exchange for a drink. Pms please
ghilley
Think you will have TRUBLE getting them to stay in the garden ?
rimfire4969
They won't stay long, you might have one coming back now and again for food but I expect you would let them go and not see them again. If you and your neighbours can put up with the noise try guinea fowl or Peacocks.
foxbasher
Would try guinea fowl but they taste too good so may not last long. My grandad had half a dozen hen birds as pets in the garden for years, clipped the wing feathers to stop them clearing the fence. Two of them he had for about five years before the local fox got in one night
