roadkill
Looking into bird numbers and feed, if I was to order 1200 / 1300 pheasant for the beginning of August, how long would I need to feed them on Poult feed before going to wheat and how many bags of Poult feed should I order? MattSoanes
You should try to have them onto wheat by 12/13 weeks ideally. I'd say you'll go through 2-2.5 tonne of pellet in that time assuming birds come in at 7 weeks. I'd order a tonne use it, then 2-3 days before it's gone get another ton so it's fresh. ColinF
There's a guide on the link below: http://www.heygatesfeeds.co.uk/pheasant-feeds/ Heygate's pack their feed in 20kg bags, others use 25kg bags, which will obviously make a difference to the number of bags needed. We release 1,600 pheasants and I order 6,000kg of pellets, as I think keeping them on pellets for a couple of extra weeks produces better birds. tiny tim
We release 800 birds and use I ton of grower pellets and one ton of poult release So you will need 1.5 tons of game grower and 1.5 tons of poult release The poult release has flubenvet in as a wormer
