Went out last night after the football, met a mate who was on lamp duty due to having smashed one hand up with the help of a sledge hammer and being stake holder nor hammer holder.... Got to.the first field scanned and grass Was long and no signs of life. Not wanting to give up on what has been a good field for us i stuck the night vision on.. Loads of butter cups so I carefully watched to see if any moved... Then three sets of eyes gave them selves away.. I laid down but due to the grass being lonf i could see nothing, id not taken my sticks so was at a point where I had to give free hand a go. Never normally do.. But having the confidence that where I point the 17 is where it goes, I line the first shot up and bang dropped the first, one of the others obviously thought sod that and made a run for it, the other, about 5 yrds further up the field just sat up, looked around a bit then sat down. I was surprised at theis, but relaoded and took the shot. Dropped him.. To say i was happy would be an understatement, ive not got the steadiest of hand...

All other perms we checked were empty so i am glad the first produced two..

On getting to the first, lighter in colour, there was an area of fur coming away it brushed my hand over it and his is what I found, a graze of some sorts.. Maybe a run in with a fox????
