Stock and forend refurb advice please

I've just finished a rifle stock in Danish (well, Liberon Finishing oil actually, but the same sort of idea...a blend of oils with a small amount of resin hardner added). The main difference from what I can see is that many specific gun oils contain blends of Walnut and Red Root oils, some also containing Tung oils all to achieve a certain depth of colour and finish, traditional to gun stock finishing. Personally, I like the slight red tinge of red Root oils, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out what some of the oils are in the CCL blend for example ;)

Some just aren't suitable though. When I first started messing around with oil blends and gunstocks, I used BLO which was a waste of time as it isn't weather resistant and needs frequent topping up. Same with just using Tung Oil. Fine for chopping boards and furniture but if outside, it needed topping up and refinishing fairly often if used on its own. Darker finish than BLO and slightly more durable though. Some still use it despite not being ideal on its own for a longer term finish.

The other type of thing I was contemplating for my rifle stocks was some of the hard wax oils (such as a Morrels Eze-oil wax oil). Some only require two or three coats and give a very durable finish and remain weatherproof.

Everyone has their own preferences but the choices are indeed growing!

Not quite a gunstock, but continuing the musical theme, here's the finish obtained with Liberon on a pair of speakers I made for someone last year:
