richie1606
Been thinking of buying a shooting rest now the grass is getting too long for the harris bipod as the land I shoot is quite flat and was wondering which are best telescopic single leg or the tall bipod type. Also where is the best place to get them from. Have seen one on flea bay for £20 is this a good price?? Thanks Richie
Oly
Make a shooting stick, cheaper and more fun! Otherwise Kip will no doubt come in on this and show you what he made with tent poles - they do look good and sound like they work well! bunny bagger
go to `varmint als` web site and look up the fur bipod
tulkyuk
Go to B&Q and buy 2 garden canes and a small bungie, will cost you less than a tenner and better than any shop bought ones. Cheers Paul
Dunkield
GO TO BUSHWEAR and buy bipod telescopic sticks for about 25 quid. Try getting 3 sets of 5 foot poles in you car for a stalking trip and then you will know why Also they are good for sitting and kneeling shots and they do them in cammo now. Browning
Another Bushwear fan, good piece of kit for the money. I also made a short set about 12" long from B&Q canes, they fit in my pocket and are good if you get chance for a prone shot.
sandersj89
Do most people use just the 2 sticks over the 3 stick version? The 3 must mean a more stable platform or are they fiddly to use in the field?

The 3 must mean a more stable platform or are they fiddly to use in the field? 3 stick ones do tend to be a bit 'fiddly' under field use- you just aint got time to mess about when fox shooting! and i also think Litts are doing shooting sticks at half price (advert in the shooting times )
invector
When I retired my Deben hide poles I made them into stalking sticks, using a bungee. Fully adjustable, and less pain to get in the vehicle, than my previous Wyevale poles.
bunny bagger
heres aphoto of my sticks, 2 pieces of dowell , a nut and bolt and a piece of string so it opens to the correct angle
Eagleman
And a third Bushwear fan here. I've got both camo bipod and tripod sticks. The tripod is best but too fiddly on walkabout and better for hide use.
Guest rabo
Make a shooting stick, cheaper and more fun! made this one today to use from standing, and have another 2 to make 1 for sitting,1 for prone position, all 4 sticks cost 7.48 at B&Q.the standing one is 16mm diameter and the smaller ones will be 11mm diameter, the leather rest is from an old seat that broke on me, never throw anything out,new i would make use of it.deff need a double or treble ive been using a single one its not steady enough,of course i couldn't have done it with out PW ...don't think they look too bad and look at the money we are saving.
