Hornet86
Hi all, does anybody know the police procedure for checking land ?, the Flo visited my perm about 3 weeks ago and i spoke to him on the same day, said he would make his recommendations to his boss that afternoon and a decision would be made, phoned a few days later and he wasn't in his office and would call me back, he didn't, twice that happened, phoned last week and he was on leave, phoned today and he's on training all week and to phone him Monday, there's nothing nowhere to say if the land has been passed or not, meanwhile got a grumpy landowner ringing and updating me on the ever increasing population of rabbits that he wants gone. Thinking it might be quicker to buy a pcp, Surely a yes or no answer can't take what is going to be a month ? Or is this the normal sort of time ? Many thanks, Chris. WelshMike
Sorry to say this is the usual poor state of affairs when it comes to the FL teams. Some are good, most are poor from what I have seen. Have 1 friend who has been waiting 6 months for a FAC grant. Another has waited over a month from the FEO visit and still no ticket. All I can say is good luck and keep phoning them and hassling them and you will get an answer ...eventually. One question- do you have any friends who have an open licence that you can go out with? This will at least keep the farmer happy for the time being until you get sorted.
kyska
That's ridiculous, in the past ive rung and got a yes or no over the phone there and then. If it's not cleared then a bit of a delay is almost acceptable. Does the land owner not know?
Hornet86
Thanks for the replies fellas, the land currently is not cleared for anything, I do believe I'm the only person to shoot on it since the landowners dad who passed away 20+ years ago, hence the population of rabbits, iv asked for it to be cleared for 22lr as his wife keeps horses so need to be quiet about it. Don't know anyone with a open cert but Iv just this afternoon managed to borrow a s410 from a pal so hopefully get a few tomorrow and at least show I'm trying. Feels like a constant battle with the firearms team, took them 10 months to grant me the Certs, they must be sick of me ringing by now 😖
adi786
from my experience, i rang my FEO re the land which wasn't clear, and he came down to visit the land after 2 days with me, and on spot he told that from today, i can use my firearms on the land, and he'll let the department know... so for me it took 3/4 days.
