pigeonblasterian
While out ferreting on Friday we had a phone call from a farmer. He asked if we could in his words have a go at some geese asap that are grazing his neighbours wheat field. We told him we would be on it and would have a recce and get on the job as soon as we could. I had a recce this morning as it was pouring with rain and watched skeins of greylag geese landing on this particular field. At one time i counted over 250 and they came in over a period of 4 hours and there were still skeins flying about as i left. Well we are sorted for a couple of days shooting this coming week.So looking foreward to filling up the freezer with goose hopefully. Not very clear photos as taken on the phone. But if you squint your eyes you can see the geese in a long line just below the trees and hedgeline. pigeonblasterian
We will be trying our best to deter them from coming onto this field after this coming week.
MrPhantom
Good luck! How do you plan to shoot them? I'm genuinely interested having had no experience of inland goose shooting at all. Do they follow set lines into the field?

I'm genuinely interested having had no experience of inland goose shooting at all. Do they follow set lines into the field? They came in from two different areas but all landed in roughly the same place. We will try and get as near to where they were landing to decoy them.Roughly a 300 yard walk to set up along the trees. pigeonblasterian
Went today to have a go at the geese and they had moved and are feeding a mile away.We did see a few but they were going back to roost and were not interested in the decoys. We turned up which is what the farmer wanted and will just have to wait and see if we get another call.
