friend as bought a browning 325 grade 3 its nice but dosent look good enougth for a grade 3 should there be markings on it saying grade 3 its a 1988 gun Thanks for any replys

I owned a 325 G3 many moons ago. I can't recall it stating it as such anywhere on the gun, ( though admittedly it could have....it was a long time ago ) and apart from the engraving I think it was mainly the wood which made it such.

My 325 is 1991. There's no marking as to what grade it is but it has engraved side plates and more checkering than a grade 1, also oiled rather than varnished wood.

 

I was told it was a grade 3 but it might be a grade 2, without a catalogue from then who can say? Can you post pictures?

it as got engraved side plates and is oiled stock don't know about checkering no pics wont see him for a couple weeks

Browning do good catalogues, do a search online and bring up the correct year, from there you can get a better idea on what the engraving should look like for the grade.
