gav05
I'm looking at a new gun and iv borrowed it a few times from a mate it's a Browning ultra xs prestige. We haven't spoke of price yet but iv been trying to reach a little about it and try and age it. According to Browning age check it's 1990 but I don't think this can be correct. As it's not that old to look at and the review would lead me to believe it came out in 2007. Ish any one able to shed any light on this. The letters on the SN are MN. Also what would you choose the ultra xs or the new 725. The wood on the ultra is a little disappointing compared to the photos iv seen of other guns. Any help would be much appreciate. Gordon R
MN was proofed in 2009. I have owned a couple of Browning XS and they are fine guns. I didn't like the forend - prefer trap models - also owned a couple of XTs. Of the two quoted, I would go for the XS - there appears to be no negative views on them. The wood is supposed to be grade 3 and varies from each gun I have owned.
Me matt
Looks can be so deceiving where shotguns are concerned, I bought a o/u Franchi, owner thought it to be roughly 20 years old, date stamp confirms its 39 years old.
