Si-Bore
I tried 3 cartridges out in my 303 to try to determine which is the most suitable. Can anyone give me any advice on how I can determine which is the best of the 3 cartridges on the pattern plates? Is it worth drawing a perfect circle around the main pattern to establish which has the most shot in the area? Cheers Simon
henry d
From the pattern, judge what you consider to be the centre and then draw a 30" circle. You then look at how well(or not) the shot are distributed, look mainly for blank areas and any large holes or crescent shaped patterns which may mean there is gas escaping the seal or damage to the shot along the barrel. If there are big gaps don`t even bother.
lurcherboy
Before you shoot any carts, draw a cross in the center of your pattern plate, you may be surprised to see how high/low your gun shoots. LB

LB Thats what I did as I wanted to know exactly where the main pattern was going. I was pleased to see it was just above as my first gun which is a s/s aya yeomen shot well low and needed a comb raiser desperately! I feel much more comfortable with my newly bought Beretta A303. Fits me well! Cheers Si
badgerman
i'd love to try a pattern plate but how do you go about arranging it?
henry d
Get a large paper sack, slit down one side and open it up. Then go out to your permission and stick it onto a wire fence with gaffer tape.
