Hello all

Have just picked up my new rifle and SAK mod, the SAK came with no paperwork whatsoever, the dealer just whacked it in the box with the gun. Should there be anything with it? Warranty, cleaning instructions, safety warnings etc? Don't get me wrong, its just a mod. Only asking..

Thanks

You wont get warranty as there is nothing to go wrong with a sak. Strip it and you will see :stupid:

You DO get a warranty with your SAK suppressor. I've got two and the paperwork amounts to an A4, double sided sheet, giving instructions about dismantling and cleaning. Jackson Rifles give a 12 months warranty on the BR-Tuote Reflex, Ase Ultra jet-Z and SAK units.

They also agree to replace, or recondition to new, any of their units, regardless of age and condition, including a new warranty, if returned to them with a payment equal to 60% of the current retail price. Go back and get that paperwork mate.

Thanks, I will give him a ring and get it sent up. I thought there would be something - everything these days comes with instructions, needed or not, but it was on my rifle on the wall on display so I figured he forgot. I guess it goes along the lines of "guns are dangerous, do not set fire to yourself whilst reading these instructions or SAK will not be liable" etc etc.

In a nutshell, are we talking old toothbrush and some de crud compound?

tuck1,

I just give mine a thorough brushing. You'll find a 12 bore phosphor bronze brush just fits the expansion chambers. I wipe a little oil over the touching surfaces before re-assembling.

BE AWARE THAT THE DUST WILL CONTAIN LEAD!!!!! DON'T BREATHE IT IN!!!!!

Excellent thank you. My next question was about to be "can anyone give me a few cleaning pointers in the meantime?"

So that's that one taken care of.

Thanks for the info chaps.

Seems daft to bother the guy for a 30 quid mod, most of the ones I've used over the years never got cleaned (just like the rifles!)

Hi Tuck,

I picked one of these up for my rimfire a few weeks back. It came with an A4 sheet of paper wrapped around it, basically it has a 12 month warranty. If you need to claim against the warranty then it needs to be sent to Jackson Rifles in Scotland. They also offer a limited lifetime Guarantee. After the 12 months they will replace or recondition to new, regardless of age, with a new 12 month warranty for 60% of the current retail price.

Hope this helps. :stupid:

It does thanks. It was on the rifle which was a display model, so he just stuck it in the box. To be honest, for the money I'd save I might not bother. £30 isn't the end of the world if it all goes wrong, and it looks well made. Just hope I don't blow it up on the first shot.....

Cleaning instructions are very simple...

* Undo the three screws

* Press the centre part out from the outer sleeve by pressing the front of the sound moderator against a table top - the outer sleeve then slips off

* Clean with Napier gun cleaner, WD-40, Break-Free or similar light oil

* Re-assemble
