PDF
Hi all, I go shooting clays with my dad and we have had some instruction in the past. He has been told he would be better off using a shotgun with a monte carlo stock due to his build. He uses a miroku mk60 with monte carlo stock that is a club gun and gets on with it well. I have found a Miroku 3800 with Monte Carlo stock for sale locally that I am thinking of buying (dad has no licence). I would have this as a second gun but let my dad use it when we go to grounds with s11 permission. Does anyone have any experience with this gun? It's got 30" barrels , 1/4 and 1/2 choked for a touch under £500. I have emailed the seller to check if it's a sporter or trap. I don't want to break the bank on getting the old man a gun to use but don't want to be ripped off either. (He's not in a position to get his SGC due to his other half) Gun hire adds a lot to the day and I'd like to go to other grounds with him that don't hire out guns. Thanks for reading. HDAV
3800 are cracking if it's MC stock then was probably a trap gun (the name means nothing really) if it fits £500 isn't bad, check for any play in the barrels, with fornend off and make sure the safety (will probably be manual) works and if fitted the barrel selector. Other than that just lol for any major abuse the serial Number under top lever will give you the year it was made as a 2 letter code (if not it's an early 70's gun) Trap Guns can have a lot of carts through them and rejoining a miroku isn't cheap. No good if it doesn't fit though perhaps ask the seller to bring it up to ground for your dad to try. PDF
Thanks HDAV, I'll get to the shop as they're fairly local, check the condition and see if I can take her for a spin. Thanks for the pointers in what to look it for.
kenholland
if it's in good condition you won't go wrong for that kind of money, would not part with my 3800 trap ever. clay's mainly.
