washerboy
I have received a box of mixed cartridges, mostly black gold in 32g size 6 and a few boxes of high pheasant 30g also in size 6, but among them are about 30 eley hi flyer 32g size 5 . My question is are these hi flyers a good cartridges, I'm going to enjoy shooting them any way but it's a cartridge I have never heard of or seen posts about. neutron619
I used Hi Fliers (32g/#5) before I started loading my own and thought they were good - and very smooth. I seem to remember my semi shot the fibre version quite well through a full choke. Anyway, good enough to make me the problem when they weren't bringing the birds down - and no more expensive than they needed to be. The local shop once gave me a slab of VIPs when they couldn't get Hi Flyers for me. They didn't charge me the £3.50/box extra for it, which was fair enough, as they patterned much less well and I never felt as comfortable shooting them. Probably no difference between them in reality (except perhaps the colour of the case), but then again, you can't buy confidence. Ho hum.
