Poachers on permission

I was chatting with a guy I know who leases his land out to a local farmer and he was telling me they've found some empty cases scattered around their land. From what I can make of the description he's giving me (he's not a shooting man) the gun has to be something that fires a .308 type case (maybe .243 or .270, I don't know). The trouble is, the land isn't that huge, and is only 500m or so from a shopping centre! They've phoned the police about it, but can't get any interest. Sounds a bit risky to me, I'd have thought they'd have taken notice of something so close to a busy public area. He's worried someone's going to get hurt :good:

I assume he has spoken to the Farmer who leases the land, surely he must have an interest in who is on the land.

If he is not satisfied with the response from the Police, he should write to a senior officer, in which case he will get a written acknowledgment that he has expressed some concerns and a statement of what action the Police intend to take.

That takes some of the responsibility away from him.

I make these comments as a friend of mine had an identical situation, a few years ago.

The Police apprehended a local man with a .22, who thought that as nobody was shooting on the land at night, he would.
