kory1986 Posted March 5, 2017 Report Share Posted March 5, 2017 Notice yesterday that my car a Ford focus mark 2 55 plate was losing power steering fuild quite a lot of it two it seems to be dripping on the fan belt and being flicked all over the engine and make a strange sreaching nosie some one told the nosie is because your fan belt covered in power steering fuild I believe it to be the pipe that's leaking and not any think with the the pump as the steering is still light and not heavy has any one got a Idea what it could be I know it's the power steering cause the fluid being drained out of the power steering resiour Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Wymondley Posted March 5, 2017 Report Share Posted March 5, 2017 Common fault, it will be the pipe. They fracture at the pump. Modified ones available at main dealers. Easy to change if you're handy with the spanners. The connection at the pump can be tricky to remove/refit. You need the Ford pas fluid as well. Clean the belt off with some aerosol brake cleaner, if it's really bad it may need replacing. If it's got a stretch belt they're a pig to fit without the right tool. I thought this might be it i use a spanner lol I'm OK changed things before so I think might give it a go I think it may be a stretch belt as I bought a belt to day and it looks kind of small Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
