aister
In among a mixed lot of 6.5 bullets, that I bought from someone selling up, there is a box of 160gr RWS bullets that I was going to try and find a load for but they seem to be undersized! They measure 6.63 or .261 as opposed to 6.7 or .264. Anyone come across this before?
Vince Green
There has always been a variable opinion between manufacturers on what constitutes best diameter. I know my friend has commented about this in the past with his 6.5mm but I don't know if its a thing with that calibre.
aister
Thanks for that, interesting that your friend had the same problems with 6.5 bullets.
Vince Green
His problem, or how he noticed it, was the bullets were dropping into the case when he stuck then in the neck before seating them.
kernel gadaffi
I've a friend with a 6.5x55 and a 6.5 magnum, the only bullet that doesn't give a good group in either gun is the Hornady 140 grain SST, but in my Swede and 6.5x284, they are very good. Odd really.
aister
Thats when I noticed they were undersized, when tying to seat the bullet they fell into the case. It's not a problem as I have plenty of loads that work well. The only bullets that I have found that just would not group at all was 140gr A-max.
